ALLEGAN, Mich. — Paul Cloer Jr. was the star of the two-day harness racing meet at the Allegan (Mich.) County Fair, harnessing five winners combined on the Monday (Sept. 9) and Wednesday (Sept. 11) programs.

Cloer kicked off his training hat trick on Monday with Greg Gardner homebred Taylor Dawn, who won a $5,000 Michigan Colt Stakes event for 2-year-old pacing fillies in line to Drew Neill in 2:11.3. Cloer then took to the race bike to team his trainees Starlit Rigmajig (2:13.2) and Rocknroll Wildcats (2:08.3) to victory in overnight events.

On Wednesday, Cloer picked up where he left off, reeling off two more wins in overnight paces for owner Lases Racing. Chanceitlikeitis turned in the fastest pacing mile of the meet with a 2:06.2 score in a $2,000 conditioned pace, followed by Word To The Wise (2:07.1) giving Cloer the second half of a training and driving double on the day while sealing top honors at the meet for the 54-year-old Michigan native.

Brad Kramer notched a stakes double on Monday, driving Ruth Langmore to a 2:13.3 win in the $5,000 2-year-old filly trot for trainer Kevin St. Charles and owner-breeder E C S Racing, and Silver And Gold to a 2:12.2 win in the $5,000 2-year-old male pace for trainer Peter Otten and the partnership of Ronald Prohm and Geoff Howles. NS Got Faith, whom Ty Goodell drove for owner-trainer Kim Pluta, rounded out the quartet of stakes winners with a 2:18.1 score in the $5,000 2-year-old male trot.

Celebrity Pegasus enjoyed the fastest trotting mile of the meet, winning a $2,000 Free-For-All on Wednesday in 2:06.4 for owner-trainer Samuel Eicher and driver Kody Massey.
